Water Dispersible Granule (WDG) developed vastly due to its high content, high density ratio, small size, convenience in packing and transport, dustless, low environment pollution, good effect and good storage stability and has been the leading agent type replacing the WP.

WDG is also the formulation developed fastest and with the most varieties in our company. We have processed nearly 160 kinds of different pesticides for export.

The advantages of WDG are as follows:

1) High effective content (generally 50%---80%), high relative density and small volume, facilitating package, storage and transportation.

2) Without flying dust in application, reducing environmental pollution and providing more safety to operators.

3) Desirable storage and chemical stability, especially the pesticides unstable in water, being better than suspension concentrate.

4) Quick disintegration, small particle size, uniform dispersion, high suspension rate and increased efficacy.

There are three main granulation methods for water dispersible granules:

1) Fluidized bed (boiling method) granulation, granules are approximately spherical.

2) Rotation (extrusion) granulation, granules are columnar.

3) High pressure spray granulation, granules are circular with globosity particles of 40-120 micron.

Usually the choice of granulation method is decided according to customers’ demand.

  • fluidized bed granulation equipment in China is very backward compared with foreign countries. Its multiple granulations and the removal of fake particles, screening, granulation and dust control in powder conveying in granulation process have always been plaguing the circle of pesticide preparation.
  • extrusion granulation is characterized by low cost, low pollution, but slightly poor particle disintegration.

WDG requires desirable disintegration effects which are summarized into three types, namely, expansion type, streamline disintegration type and spray disintegration type. The effects of different disintegrations are always directly dependent on auxiliaries’ costs which are generally adjusted in gradient according to the prices provided by customers. However, the minimum standard should conform to the disintegration index and suspension rate index prescribed by FAO and China’s National Standards.

Example of WDG:

-Emamectin benzoate+Lufenuron 10%+40% WDG

-Lambda-cyhalothrin 25%WDG

-Emamectin 30%WDG
